Screen Capture Review: Awesome Screenshot (Google Chrome Extension)

Finding a Screen Capture Tool (For Free)

Awesome Screen Recorder
Back Story:

I recently acquired a new-to-me laptop, so now it's time to install programs and tools that I use frequently; one of them being a screen capture tool. Previously I used Screen Hunter 7, which worked perfectly for YEARS, it had all the bells and whistles that I needed; it was simple to use and saved to my computer flawlessly. BUT, recently it started spamming me with pop-up registration / pay for service screens after nearly every capture. It got to the point where, as much as I love the program for it's simplicity, I no longer want to use it due to the annoyance of the popup window. So... that brings me to the point of this article: Finding a program that works flawlessly, does exactly what I want, doesn't annoy me with ads/pop-ups, is free and requires no additional registration to use. That's when I came across this little gem:

If you're anything like me, a pretentious name is an immediate turn-off. How can it really be "Awesome"? Usually anything that brags that it's "awesome" ends up being garbage that doesn't do anything it claims to and leaves a bad taste in your mouth, right? Well, I hate to admit it, but this little Google Chrome Extension, Awesome Screenshot is actually pretty awesome! It does everything I need it to with ease. Literally, you click a button, it captures your screen (any way you want in most cases), allows you to perform basic annotations/edits, and then you save or share it. The only downfall is: free isn't really free. You're limited on how many screenshots and recordings you can take and with each tier of payment/package you get a little more. Mind you, if you're a small business or someone working from home, the pricing plans are affordable ($5-$6 per month at the moment). For me that means, once my time using this program runs out I will be replacing it with another free extension that hopefully performs just as awesomely!

* I am not sponsored or affiliated with this company/brand, I simply like their product and chose to write about it in my blog in case you were looking for something similar. All the images in this review were captured and annotated using the tool itself.

Swagbucks

I signed up to Swagbucks the other day and wow, there's a LOT to sift through. This is definitely not a user-friendly site for those who are "website challenged". My mom would quit on this site in a heartbeat - and I wouldn't blame her. I'm overwhelmed and I've been using, building and viewing websites for over 15 years. There's just soooo much "stuff" and no clear direction. With that aside, it's basically a site where you earn tokens (or swag bucks) which you can then turn in for prizes / rewards which are mostly in the form of gift cards in the price range of $10-$100 value from shops like Amazon, Foot Locker, iTunes, Facebook and more. I even noticed you can make donations to charities like the Red Cross and UNICEF using swag bucks, which is nice for those of us who lack credit cards for making online donations :) I ended up downloading the Chrome browser extension just because its one of those sites that you literally have to spend...

Jamberry Nail Wrap - Trial Pack

Jamberry Nail wrap on my pinky finger (left), and regular nail polish on all my other digits I received a trial pack of Jamberry nail wraps from an old childhood friend and current Jamberry Consultant ( check her page out here ). My cousin is also a consultant ( view her page here ). I've been tempted to become one myself but was a little hesitant mostly because it looks like a product that's too good to be true. Like all products it has its pros and cons; most of these are in comparison to standard nail polish: Pros:  No smell . I'm highly sensitive to harsh scents, and paint of any kind is one of those things that sets me off. I can't stand the smell of nail polish, especially when it lingers. These wraps, thankfully are odor free! No drying time. Once the wrap is applied you're good to go, no waiting for minutes to hours for the paint to dry. No extra coating. Unlike nail polish you only have to apply one nail wrap to get the benefit of pretty shin...
